Social Save exists because saving a video you already have permission to watch shouldn't require installing an app, creating an account, or clicking through three ad pages.
What we built
Social Save is a link-in, video-out tool for two platforms: Instagram and YouTube. Paste a public post, Reel, video, or Short, and we hand back the original file — no browser extension, no desktop app, no watermark stamped over the corner.

Regular uploads and Shorts alike, fetched at the original quality with no re-encoding.
Why it's just two platforms
We'd rather support Instagram and YouTube properly than spread thin across a dozen platforms and support none of them well. If that changes, this page will say so.
How it works, briefly
When you paste a link, Social Save identifies the platform, requests the publicly available media for that post or video, and gives you a direct download link. Nothing is stored on our end after your session — we don't keep a library of everyone's downloads.
What we ask in return
Use Social Save for content you have the right to save — your own posts, or public material where doing so doesn't violate the creator's rights or the platform's terms. We're a convenience tool, not a rights-clearing service; see our Terms of Service for the full picture.
