Privacy Policy

This explains what information the Social Save family of sites (Social Save downloader and Social Save Movies) collects when you use them, why, and what choices you have.

1. Information we collect

Both sites are designed to work without an account. We do not ask for your name, email, or Instagram/YouTube login. The information we handle falls into these categories:

• Links you submit (downloader) — the Instagram/YouTube URL you paste is sent to our server to be processed and, briefly, to our media-fetching provider. We don't build a permanent log tying URLs to individual visitors.
• Search/browse activity (movies) — searches and pages you view are used only to serve that page; we don't build a personal profile from them.
• Basic technical data — standard server logs (IP address, browser type, timestamp, pages visited) collected automatically by our hosting provider, used for security and abuse prevention.
• Cookies — used for basic site function (like the downloader's rate-limit session) and, if advertising is enabled, by our advertising/analytics partners.
• If account features are ever enabled on either site, we'd also collect the email and a securely hashed password you provide.

2. How we use information

• To process the video/link you submit and return a download link (downloader).
• To show movie listings, details, and search results (movies).
• To prevent abuse of the service (rate limiting).
• To understand aggregate site usage — not to identify individuals.
• To serve advertising, where ads are shown.

3. Advertising & third-party services

Our sites may display advertisements served by third-party advertising networks, which may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can generally opt out of personalized advertising via www.aboutads.info/choices.

Movie data on Social Save Movies is sourced from a third-party movie database API. We may also use standard analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics), governed by their own privacy policies.

4. Data we don't collect

• We do not require or store account passwords for any external platform.
• We do not access your private Instagram/YouTube account data — only publicly available content you link to.
• We do not sell personal information to third parties.

5. Data retention

Submitted links and fetched media are processed transiently to fulfill your request and are not retained in a searchable archive tied to you. Standard server/security logs are retained only as long as needed for security and abuse-prevention.

6. Children's privacy

Our sites are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

7. Your choices

• You can use your browser's settings to block or delete cookies.
• You can opt out of personalized advertising using the link in Section 3.
• You can contact us (below) with any privacy question or request.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time; the "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
